Snake Oil

History: Near a moon orbiting a gas giant, somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse, there is a sport that is more or less a cross between NASCAR, horse racing, and roller derby. The contestants are bioengineered, equal parts starship and pilot. Their minds are faster than quantum computers. Their scales are designed to brace against the coldness of space and the fires of atmospheric reentry. Their thrust streaks in flames across the night sky. And when they need to lubricate their parts, they rely on one brand more than any other – Snake Oil – The official oil of the Blarghmont Cup.

 

Interpretation: 🐉 I don’t consider myself brand-loyal for most things, but when it comes to oils, there really is a difference. I use Snake Oil to make sure all of my parts are properly lubricated every time I take on the track. There’s enough competition out there, why would I compete against myself by using an inferior oil?
